| Starting | Easiest Specialty Wood to start. Smaller diameters can be started with most starters. |
| Burning | Low burn times & efficiency. Fastest burning Specialty Wood. |
| Heat Production | Low-range heat production. Rated at 19.5 million BTU's per cord. |
| Unique Characteristics | Our lightest hardwood. Sorry, it DOES NOT smell like cherries. |
| Availability | Usually @ 3% of our yearly production. Available in March & April ONLY !! |

| Starting | Requires established fire to start. Must have high temperature & red hot coal base. |
| Burning | Longest burn time & highest efficiency. |
| Heat Production | High-range heat production. Rated at 27.7 million BTU's per cord. |
| Unique Characteristics | Our densest Specialty Wood = best for heat. Not recommended for smoking or BBQ's. |
| Availability | Sorry. No 2021 Hickory production. |
